well, if you know my family, you know that we are big on gingerbread house making contests around christmas. we all get together on christmas eve and we work until we feel that every little detail can be accounted for. there are no rules….we can grab anything from around the house and use any kind of candy we want. we love doing it! here are some pictures of my family last year just to give you an idea. we are serious….and NO you do not use frosting to put the base together…..you use a HOT GLUE GUN!!

My mom always sends out a cute gift to her long time friends every christmas…whether it be homemade fudge wrapped in a handmade paper box or a beautiful basket full of goodies with their family name sewn across a festive hand towel. This year she decided to get her friends involved in what WE do every christmas eve…..ginger bread houses!!! so she went on her way and dropped off the gingerbread house kit to about 11 of her friends. she told them to submit a picture of their house, and they would be judged on the best looking overall house. well, once the winner was chosen they were told it would be posted on my blog for everyone to see!! so here is the winner of the 2009 gingerbread house contest!
